I spent some time in Beverly Cleaners yesterday and got a good idea of why the dry cleaner has been there for over 40 years. Customer after customer came in and Susan (who is there 12 hours a day five days a week....and all day on Saturdays) never asked a customer for their name or their ticket. Oh, they pulled their ticket out of their wallet or purse....but by that time she already had their dry cleaning up front and ready.

One customer who came in is a U.S. Air Force colonel. I kidded Susan as to whether she was going to ask him for his name. He volunteered to me that Beverly is the best cleaners that he has ever used. And he said that in his travels he has had some bad dry cleaning experiences. This is a man who was wearing what appeared to be a dress uniform, and was picking up similar clothes, so clearly a picky customer! He told me that he was transferred away from Alexandria for three years, and when he moved back Susan remembered his name as if he had never left.

Beverly Cleaners is on Cameron Street almost directly behind City Hall, and one block north of the Courthouse. Beverly provides the following services:
Susan offers one day service on dry cleaning and shirts. The store hours are Monday thru Friday 7am to 7pm, and Saturdays 8 to 3.
